Kitchen & Dining | The kitchen area at Forest Gate serves as a captivating venue for both cozy family gatherings and festive entertainment. With generous spaces and a lofty feel, the kitchen boasts two hand-hammered sinks, granite countertops, custom DBS butternut cabinetry and a fully-appointed butler's pantry. The appliance package includes double Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezers; Thermador heating drawer; Thermodor full double-oven gas range with four burners, grill, griddle; customized overhead exhaust system built into the stone façade; two Miele dishwashers; and a Thermador microwave.

In the keeping room, you'll discover the quintessential spot to lounge while tantalizing aromas from the kitchen drift by. Light a fire at the hearth and converse with the chef. Gaze through the massive windows onto the unsurpassed mountain views. And when you rise for that next cup of tea, notice the under-floor heating in both the keeping room and the kitchen.

Through the archway, the formal dining room offers an olde world Tuscany ambiance. With random width oak flooring, huge handcrafted beams, and a curved window seat, the room embodies both hospitality and warmth. The dining room is easily accessed through the keeping room and the butler's pantry.

Living Spaces | Grand interior spaces, breezy outdoor venues and quiet nooks provide a space for every need at Forest Gate. From the dramatic great room to the screened porch to the home office, you'll find exquisite stone fireplaces. In all, there are seven stone fireplaces in the residence, all wood-burning in design and all with gas log sets. The fireplace beams are derived from historic Midwestern barns. Throughout the residence, the interior walls and ceilings feature custom "blue-board" construction with plaster coatings, paint and wax treatments. All poplar trim and wainscoting was milled from native trees felled to make room for house. Both interior and exterior doors as well as paneling were custom made from reclaimed oak. French doors, massive windows and coffered ceilings transform the living spaces into settings that welcome and inspire.

Home Theater | Take your seat in the motorized leather theater chairs and you'll feel as if you're at the premier opening of Hollywood's newest blockbuster. The spacious 18' x 25' custom home theater is designed for dedicated audio/video enjoyment. Features include acoustic treatments, separate electrical circuits and wiring, coffered ceiling, custom lighting and a state-of-the-art rear screen projection system.
