Our Community Service
At Sheelah Clarkson Asheville Real Estate Agency, we believe in giving back to the community we serve. The focus of our service reflects the shared values within our agency and our gratefulness for the extraordinary region in which we live and work.
Land Conservancy
Our agency is dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of our mountains and foothills. In order to promote land preservation, we have sponsored several programs held by our local land trusts. These events include annual fundraisers and educational seminars designed to inform land owners and professionals about the benefits of and process for placing land tracts under the perpetual protection of conservation easements.
Equestrian Community
In support of our region’s equestrian community, we have sponsored a wide range of events. Our agency recently served as a major sponsor of the National Equine Economic Development Summit. We have also co-sponsored several national and regional horse shows held at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center near Hendersonville, and the Foothills Nature Equestrian Center (FENCE) in Tryon, North Carolina.
One of our all-time favorite sponsorships is Dancing Under the Stars. In 2006, we became the event’s founding sponsor and each year, we look forward to this magical evening. Dancing Under the Stars, a spectacle featuring talented equine and human performers, serves as the major annual fundraiser for The Therapeutic Riding of Tryon (TROT). TROT assists physically and developmentally challenged adults and children and serves residents in five counties in the Carolinas. Sanctioned by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA), the program offers classes that are taught by NARHA-certified instructors. A team of devoted volunteers and horses on loan from local owners are at the heart of this successful program.
We are pleased to announce that our major sponsorship for 2008 is the new
covered arena at the Foothills Nature Equestrian Center (FENCE), a non profit
organization chartered in Tryon, North Carolina. This new structure will
help FENCE better serve the area’s burgeoning equestrian community.
